Nice looking unit this one, strong Rexine covered steam moulded plywood cabinet. Socket at rear for a car aerial and runs on 2 x 4.5 volt torch type batteries. The electrical engineering company was founded in Vienna, Austria in 1907 and in 1966 it was taken over by ITT.
The repair
Actually no real repair needed, I just fitted a centre tapped 6 x AA battery box and she worked lovely. Just cleaned front brass and all was good. I've included a diagram if anybody else needs it.Date of manufacture is red rubber stamped inside, 12th March 1960 along with the IF frequency used (452kz) a section of the radio spectrum left free just for IF use. The transistors (7) are Mullard germanium 'OC' PNP variety. The rod aerial (2 off?) was loose and that was re-fitted. Volume control was spayed with switch cleaner.
Switch cleaner was also needed on the push buttons, 2 bands and a tone with a cancel button. All in all a very nice radio and first Ingelen to be added to my now extensive collection of vintage radios.
